Day 3 Parameters: Fruits and Veggies – Same as day one and day two, except no potato today.
Friday was Day 3 of the seven day “New Year New You” cleanse… and I didn’t find this day too bad at all. I attribute that, in part, to the fact that I used to be a vegetarian, so I have been used to not having meat in the past. I did find that I really missed bread though!
It didn’t seem to matter how many fruits or vegetables I ate, I could get to a feeling of being “full” but not feeling “sated” if that makes any sense. Also, the same thing happened with my day as the previous day: I woke up feeling hungry, but after a coffee and a tea I wasn’t really feeling hungry anymore. I ended up eating a little later than expected, because I was called into a meeting, but after that I had an apple, and then I had some stir fry with cauliflower rice, peppers, onions and pureed jalapenos again. I munched on raw carrots and grapes for snacks, and for supper I made spaghetti squash with blended diced tomatoes and pureed jalapeno. It was a makeshift “spaghetti dinner” and it really hit the spot! I do like spaghetti squash… but I also still really like noodles, and I don’t think that’s something I will ever get completely away from.
I find that I have to be very mindful of things… always keep my focus on what I’m eating, and I wish I didn’t have to do that. I think about it far more than I want to! I feel like I think about it even more than my initial weight loss and I’m not sure why that is. Maybe because I really want to get through this time without cheating… and so far so good!
Tune in Tuesday to find out how Day 4 went!
