Day Six: Fowl and Vegetables!

Day Six: Fowl and Vegetables!

This week, I’m taking part in a “New Year’s Cleanse” eating plan for seven days, to help kick those nasty holiday cravings for salt and sugar. You can read about what it is here. I weighed myself on the morning of the first day. I will be weighing myself at the end to report on the total weight loss, as well as one week later, once the normal eating “floodgates” have been opened, to get a better idea of longer term change.

Day Six

Yesterday was day six of the New Year’s Cleanse, which was fowl and vegetables day. The directions for day six were as follows: “Don’t be shy, eat to your heart’s content filling up with Chicken, Turkey and Vegetables – no potatoes today!”

Day six I can honestly say I didn’t feel like I was doing a “meal plan”. There are just so many things you can eat with chicken and veggies that it was a very easy day for me. I didn’t feel deprived; I just felt I was eating healthy! With my chicken, I had some homemade salsa, which did toe the line a bit when it came to a tsp of canning salt. But the teaspoon was spread out over 20 jars, so it wouldn’t have been very much! The only thing I find is that I get very tired of eating the same food by mid-afternoon… and last night for supper I did have two whole wheat tortillas with my supper again. I am very ready for Friday to get here so I can go back to my normal healthy eating!

Tomorrow is Day Seven… Happy Day Seven… because it’s the LAST DAY!!
