Covid-19: It’s all many of us have heard in the news as of late, and it has drastically changed the way we do business and live our lives, at least for the short-term. With the closing of all gyms and exercise classes, many are struggling with finding workouts that can work for them. Here’s some great options for things you can do from home!
Cardio Equipment: This one is a given, but if you have a piece of cardio equipment at home, now is the time to move all the clothes and put it back to work! Aim for at least ½ hour on it 5 times a week. This will help reach your recommended goal from the World Health Organization for number of minutes of activity throughout the day!
Planks, pushups and sit-ups: These are very basic activities that most people can do. They require no equipment, and you can work your way up as you progress!
Walk in your neighbourhood: At least for now, people are allowed to get out and walk within their respective neighbourhoods; the recommendation is just not to drive somewhere to go for a walk! Get out for ½ hour at least 5 days a week. Just be sure to practice social distancing while you do!
YouTube: A quick search on YouTube and you can find all sorts of videos on about any exercise you can think of, for any amount of time you can think of! As an example, for anyone who enjoys Yoga, this is a great resource: Yoga Upload! There is a great library of full classes already, and new videos are posted every Monday. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAUWdc_B05LUDmif1rypohw
Dance it out: Still not sure if any of the above will work for you? Throw on your favourite music and just dance it out! It counts as cardio and might be a great stress reliever as well.
