This week’s Balance Your Life™ tip focuses on taking the time to slow things down and enjoy the simpler things.
Now that the colder weather is upon us (for today anyway…) it’s a great time to curl up with a hot cup of tea at the end of the evening!
Not sure which tea to pick? A great tea to try is peppermint… it’s an herbal tea, no caffeine, and really good! At the end of a busy day, when you’re relaxing for the evening, make yourself a cup of tea and read a book. Or watch some Netflix. Or even just put on some fuzzy socks, and sit back and enjoy the sensation of that while sipping on a hot brew.
Not really a tea drinker? Make yourself a hot chocolate (just be mindful of added caffeine at the end of the day). The key here isn’t necessarily what you’re drinking… it’s just taking the time to slow down and enjoy something. One of the best ways to prepare yourself for sleep is to take that “slow down” time, put to rest any stresses and thoughts from the day, and find your relaxed state. Just be in the moment. (Being in the moment and focusing on the present is also a form of meditation; double bonus!)
