(If you’ve never seen the Muppets, that whole attempt to play on words/recreate a song from there in my blog title just failed miserably…)

During my seven day detox experiment which you can read about here, I had one day where I wasn’t able to eat anything but bananas, and drink skim milk. So what’s so great about bananas, anyway? For one, bananas contain three natural sugars: Sucrose, Fructose and Glucose combined with fiber. What this means for you is a sustained and substantial boost of energy. In fact, just two bananas can provide enough energy for a 90 minute workout! (The Bluenose Marathon handing out bananas now is starting to make sense!)

Because bananas are a “dense” fruit (and I don’t mean dumb), I find when you eat a banana, you feel more full than you would by eating other fruit.
