Stress got you down? Have things been particularly hectic and you find you have less and less ability to manage the anxiousness you’re feeling? Maybe it’s time to catch a wave.
No, I’m not talking about surfing/Point Break type stuff… although surfing is very relaxing for many people. Instead, find some water, and go sit beside it!
Being in Atlantic Canada, we are extremely fortunate that for most of us, hitting the beach is a quick drive away. Sounds of the waves crashing into shore, running water, wind ruffling your hair and that unmistakeable salt air can do wonders for lowering your stress levels and helping you to feel more centred and balanced again. There is a reason relaxation apps that use nature sounds always include ocean waves, after all!
Take a stroll along your favourite body of water, pushing aside all busy thoughts and just focusing on the beauty that’s around you. If you’re able to, find a way to incorporate this regularly into your life and you may discover your feelings of anxiousness will become a thing of the past!
