Day 3 Reflections: I’m pretty sure I would have been willing to sacrifice a small animal this morning for bacon, eggs and toast. For whatever reason, after two days of nothing but fruits and vegetables I was more than ready for some “real food”. (Happy to report all three of my cats are intact, however). Today’s “feast” consisted of watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew (I will be “honey-don’ting” honeydew for a while after this… definitely sick of it!), pineapple, carrots, cucumbers, broccoli (that I had to cook…. I’ve discovered I don’t like it at all without some sort of dip when it’s raw), cauliflower, bean sprouts, red peppers, bell peppers, and mushrooms. I will admit I may have cheated on the mushrooms just a bit… since I cooked them and added a little Worcestershire sauce so it would have some flavour. As I was cooking, I couldn’t help but think all these veggies would taste real good on top of a pile of nachos…
The easiest thing about Day 3: Honestly? When I dozed off in the chair doing a crossword puzzle because then I wasn’t thinking about food!
The hardest thing about Day 3: I’m really missing flavours… I like spicy food and while I do love veggies, the bland diet is making me miss my usual favourites!
