- iMuscle2 - iMuscle lets you explore the muscles in your body using 3D diagrams. Tap any muscle in the app to view primary and secondary exercises and stretches that use that muscle.
- Nike +Running - Like other running apps, it uses your iPhone's GPS and accelerometer to record your distance, pace, and time.
- Tempo Run - Tempo Run will categorize your favorite music by tempo so you can keep a steady running pace. Program your own songs or use the app's TempoRadio, powered by SoundCloud, to discover new songs to run to.
- Pocket Yoga - Pocket Yoga helps you commit to the exercise by guiding you through customized yoga sessions and logging your progress.
- Diet Point - Search the app for diet plans based on your age, gender, lifestyle, fitness goals, or simply what you like to eat – you can even follow diet plans created by your favorite celebs. Once you choose a diet plan that interests you, the app will provide you a shopping checklist to use at the grocery store, tell you how to prepare your meals, and will configure a daily eating schedule for you based on the times you like to eat, sending you a reminder for each eating time.
- Runtastic Pro – This is one of the best apps for tracking detailed information about distance-based workouts like running, jogging, biking, skating, cross-country skiing, and hand bike training.
- Zombies, Run! – Get Fit. Escape Zombies. Become a hero. This app is great for that active gamer!
- Reebok Fitness - When you open the app it will prompt you to choose your interest categories, such as running, walking, yoga, weight training, or dancing. Using this information the app will create a personalized exercise program.
- Fitness Checkup Pro - Lets you assess your physical shape by testing 11 fitness areas, including flexibility, balance, body core, strength, capacity for effort, muscle tone, explosiveness, pulse at rest, body mass index, body fat index, and reaction speed.
- Charity Miles - When you open the app, choose a charity to support and, through donations from Charity Miles' corporate partners, earn money for each mile you walk, run, or bike.
Android
- Endomondo Sports Tracker - Whether you're running, walking or cycling Endomondo will keep track of your distance and time. An audio coach will keep you motivated and you can even compete against times set by friends and strangers.
- Instant Heart Rate Pro – Can tell you your heart rate and even keeps a log of previous measurements.
- Moves - Always on, it keeps track of how many steps you've taken, how far you've travelled and can even differentiate between walking, cycling and running. You can also use it to view a timeline and activity map at the end of the day, so you'll be able to better visualise exactly where you've been, as well as at which points you were active or sedentary.
- Sleepbot - Aims to change that by providing a simple and comprehensive sleep tracking solution. It can track how much you move around in your sleep, how long you sleep for, how often you wake up during the night and more.
- Zombies, Run! Let's face it, running is boring. But when you're being chased by a horde of zombies out for brains there's no time to be bored.
- Map my Ride- Does what it says on the tin and a whole lot more. You can use it to track routes, speed, distance, elevation, calories, time and more and there are audio alerts to update you on your progress as you go.
- My Fitness Pal Calorie Counter - Counting calories isn't terribly exciting, but this app makes this easy. There are over three million items in its food database, so logging what you eat and drink is a breeze and if there's anything missing you can always create custom foods.
- Runkeeper – This is a fairly conventional app for tracking runs, but it does what it sets out to. You can control your music through the app during a workout, track walking, cycling and more in addition to running.
- Jefit Pro - A comprehensive workout and fitness tracker that allows you to create and perform workout routines. You can then log your results and view charts of your progress to give you an idea of how well you're progressing over time.
- Noom Weight Loss Coach - Does many of the same things as MyFitnessPal. You can log foods to track your calorie intake and log workouts and weight loss progress.
Blackberry
- Gym Technik - Syncs with your existing Gym Technik account to access (or create) your workout plans, routine and results right from your BlackBerry smartphone.
- AllSport GPS - Tapping into GPS, you can log your activities such as Skiing, Mountain Biking, Walking and so on. You can then view stats and reports on items such as; lap speeds, average speed, elevation change, calories and active time ( to name a few).
- FitDeck Bodyweight - Within this application is a card index of 50 exercises for the full body, or the upper middle and lower parts. No additional equipment necessary; just you and your BlackBerry smartphone. Okay, maybe you want to put on some clothes too- not everybody wants to see you stretch in your birthday suit.
- My Fitness Friends - If you find yourself more successful being social during workouts, rather than going at it alone, you can use an application like My Fitness Friends to reach out while you work out. Sporting BBM integration, the application allows you to share your routines with your contacts on BBM via your profile.
- JoyFit - Continuing on with the social side of fitness, we have joyFit. Currently in beta, the developer says that they are “about to change how people workout”. The app is part workout tracker, part social network and part game
- Endomondo Sports Tracker - This application acts as both a fitness log and as a motivator. It provides audio feedback to motivate you during workouts; you can also have message from friends read to you that can either motivate or hinder your progress.
- miCoach - Like Endomondo, the adidas miCoach application gives you audio coaching during your workouts. You can also get reminders of your scheduled workout as well, just in case you “forgot”. With multiple training plans and exercises available, you can customize a workout to help you improve your stats.
- Health TrackerPRO – This app is your solution to tracking the three most important aspects of your health: your blood pressure, your blood sugar, and your body mass index.
- MyFitnessPal – A winning weight loss app. It’s packed with a daily food log, the largest food database including grocery store and restaurant food items, and a complete tracker for calories, fat, and nutrients.
- RelaxBook Nature - If you’re looking for rest and relaxation, RelaxBook Nature may be more your style. If you suffer from a lack of sleep or simply need to unwind from a stressful day at the office with the true sounds of nature, the RelaxBook Nature app may offer some peace of mind.
Windows Phone
- Endomondo – This Windows Phone app allows you to track the distance, duration, speed and burnt calories of your run, walk or cycle.
- Gym Pocket Guide - Brings detailed images, videos and guides for over 100 exercises to your phone, keeping you constantly stocked with a variety of new exercises to learn and try. Not only that, it also has 7 day workout programs, tailored towards different goals.
- CycloMeter - A feature packed cycle tracking app. It includes things you'd expect like the ability to view your ride on a map, view charts of your ride and track your average speed, peak speed, current speed, time spent moving, total time and calories burned. But beyond that it also gives you the option to race against a time that you've previously set on a route, giving you motivation to improve.
- miCoach - You can use this app to track distance, speed, time and calories burned, just like any other run tracker. You can also get voice coaching from athletes, set and track goals and view charts of your performance.
- DailyYoga for Abs – Exactly what it sounds like, there are a selection of yoga sessions, each consisting of videos with voice narration and each lasting between 10 and 20 minutes.
- RuntasticPro - A comprehensive run tracker, complete with calorie, distance, time, speed and elevation tracking.
