For many people who are trying to lead a healthier, more active lifestyle…. Who know all the benefits of healthy living, all the statistics and all the reasons why it’s a good idea… still they struggle with making a real pact to improve.

For some, money is a big motivator and if it’s not hitting them in their pocketbook (positively or negatively) they have no motivation to really make things happen. This is where Pact comes in.

Pact is a mobile app that basically makes you put your money where your mouth is. You can set up Pact with a specific goal (and a good way to set a goal is using the SMART principle) and Pact uses app tracking on your device to make sure you’re reaching your goal. For instance, let’s say your goal is to eat more vegetables or start keeping a food journal to hold you accountable. Pact would link to an app like MyFitnessPal to make sure you’re meeting those goals. Is your goal to walk a certain number of steps per day? Pact would link with a fitness tracker or the tracker on your phone to ensure you’re doing what you’ve set out to do.

When you meet your goals you are rewarded with “pact bucks”. These are virtual dollars which, when you’ve saved up enough, can be cashed out for actual prizes. The flip side is that if you don’t meet your goals, your pact bucks are deducted and used to pay out people who are reaching theirs. There’s a lot of give and take and back and forth but Pact has a supportive community to help ensure you do what you set out to do.
