"New Year New You" Results are In! *Dim the lights*

Last week, a co-worker and myself took part in a "New Year New You" detox/cleanse diet. If you've happened to miss the numerous posts we have done on this, you can read it about it on this blog.  There were certainly days that were much easier than other days, but for the most part I would say that both of us got through the challenge with flying colours! Yes there were times that each of us slipped up... or stretched the boundaries of what could be included on a particular day (that was totally me)... but at the end of the day, we were still doing much better on our food intake than we would have been without this challenge.

We both weighed ourselves on the Friday before we started, and Day One of "New Year New You" began the following Sunday and ended this past Saturday. On Monday we both weighed in again. My co-worker lost a total of 3 pounds which was awesome! For myself, I was shocked to discover I had lost 7.2 pounds! Not only was I extremely happy about that (because it seemed like a very very long week) but I am also happy at the difference in how I feel. I still haven't had any sweets since the cleanse and really have no cravings for it either. I find I'm not able to eat as much as I was before, and I'm trying very hard to stop when I feel satisfied, even if that means I haven't finished everything on my plate (and I swear when I don't, I can hear my grandmother's voice in my head asking why I'm not!)

What I am hoping to take away from this is to model my diet during the day to be similar to the foods we were allowed to have on the cleanse, but a mix of them... so maybe yogurt for breakfast, and fruits and vegetables as snacks, as an example. I'm not making any changes to supper yet, but would like to see if I follow things during the day how it goes!

For those who have tagged along on our journey, thanks for reading along. As challenging as it was at times, I would still encourage anyone to give it a try, because it really does make a difference in how you feel! And if you do give it a try, I'd love to hear from you!
